Karina Romero has been selected to represent the 1A schools of Iowa as a member of the State-level SAAC organization. (Student Athlete Advisory Committee) She has also been instrumental in the process of brining the organization to Murray.

Murray Varsity Volleyball Coach, Maki Barber, won the KMA-Land 2025 VB Coach of the Year.

Murray Softball Coach, Tessa Otto Carpenter, achieved her 100th coaching career win.
2023

Leksi Gannon is now the 200 meter dash STATE CHAMPION…..the first girl to win a state track title in Murray history and only the second title in school history (Rex Burgus 1961 Pole Vault). Leksi also finished in 2nd place in the 1A 100 meter dash!!

Murray Elementary won a National Blue Ribbon Award.
2019

Murray Elementary received an exceptional rating on the Iowa school report card.
2018

We upgraded technology, including a DJI Phantom 4 drone.
2015

Murray building expansion completed with 4 STEM classrooms and a Junior High gym.
2012

Second trip to UNI Dome. High school football makes it to the semi-finals.
2011

First trip to UNI Dome. High school football finishes 2nd in the state.
2005

Murray High School softball finishes 6th in the state.
1996

Completion of 9 classrooms and library for the elementary school.

First Apple computers installed in the building.
